When do you need to take action

Changes in your life often affect your pension. That is why it is important to check what a life event means for your pension whenever your situation changes.

Changes in your personal life

Moving in together

If you start living together, your partner may qualify for a partner's pension, subject to certain conditions.

You must inform us if you start living together and have a cohabitation agreement. Read more

Getting married or entering into a registered partnership

If you work for HEINEKEN and participate in the pension plan, your partner may be entitled to a partner's pension if you die.

You do not need to inform us when you get married or enter into a registered partnership. Read more

Having a child

Your child may be entitled to an orphan's pension. If you die, your child can receive this pension until the age of 25. Read more

Divorce or separation

If you and your partner separate, you need to make arrangements about the division of your pension. Read more

Death

If you die and leave behind dependants, your partner and/or children may be entitled to a partner's pension or orphan's pension from the Heineken Pension Fund. Read more

Moving abroad

If you move to an address outside the Netherlands, you must always inform us of your new address.

It is important that your contact details are up to date so that we can keep you informed about your pension. Read more

Changes in your employment situation

Starting a new job

If you change employer, you may be able to transfer the pension you have accrued with your previous pension provider to your new pension provider. Read more

Illness or disability

It is important to understand the impact of disability on your pension.

You do not need to inform us if you become disabled. We receive this information from the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV). Read more

Working more or fewer hours

If you increase or reduce your working hours, this will likely affect your salary and therefore the contributions paid into your personal pension capital. Read more

Unpaid leave

If you take unpaid leave, either fully or partially, you may accrue less pension or no pension during that period.

Once you return to work, contributions to your pension will resume. Read more

(Almost) retiring

Retirement is approaching. You can then make a number of choices about your pension.

You will also need to apply for your pension. Read more

Leaving HEINEKEN or becoming unemployed

If you take a new job or become unemployed, your employment with HEINEKEN ends. As a result, pension accrual with the Heineken Pension Fund also stops. Read more
