Old age pension

Old age pension (your pension)

Your old age pension is the income you receive when you stop working and retire. By default, your pension starts at age 68. However, you can choose to start receiving it earlier, for example when you become eligible for the Dutch State Pension (AOW). See the pension plan options for the choices available to you.

How much pension will you receive?

The amount of pension you receive depends mainly on:

  • your salary; and

  • the number of years you and HEINEKEN contribute to your pension.

The contributions paid into your pension are used to build up:

  • your retirement pension from age 68; and

  • a partner's pension payable after your retirement date if you pass away.

Contributions are paid until your AOW age at the latest, as long as you remain a member of the pension plan.

Your future pension is not guaranteed. It depends on investment returns and other financial results. This also applies after you retire. Your pension payments can go up or down over time, depending on economic conditions.

In My Pension, you can see:

  • the value of your personal pension capital; and

  • an estimate of the pension you may receive in the future.

You can also visit mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl to view your total expected retirement income. This overview includes:

  • your pension with the Heineken Pension Fund;

  • any pension you have built up with previous employers; and

  • your Dutch State Pension (AOW).

Your pension choices

When you apply for your pension, you can make a number of choices.

For example, you can:

  • start your pension earlier than age 68; or

  • exchange (part of) your partner's pension for a higher retirement pension for yourself.
