Orphan's pension

Who is considered a child under the pension plan?

Your children may be entitled to an orphan's pension if you die while employed by HEINEKEN.

Your children will receive the orphan's pension until the end of the month in which they reach age 25.

The annual children's pension is equal to 20% of your most recently determined pensionable salary.

As long as you work for HEINEKEN, your children are covered for orphan's pension. If you become unemployed, this cover continues for at least three months after your employment ends. You also remain covered for children's pension as long as you receive unemployment benefits (WW).

You can also choose to continue the orphan's pension cover voluntarily.

Orphan's pension during illness or disability

If you die while you are ill or disabled, your children are entitled to a orphan's pension.

Orphan's pension after your old-age pension starts

When you retire, your children remain entitled to a orphan's pension until the end of the month in which they reach age 25.

The annual orphan's pension is equal to 14% of the old-age pension that would have resulted from a 100/70 old-age pension / partner's pension ratio chosen on your pension commencement date.

If both parents die

If both you and the other parent of your children die, the orphan's pension for each child will be doubled.
