It is important that there is also a benefit for your partner and children in the event of your death. A situation you'd rather not think about, but it's very important to have something arranged.

In the new pension scheme, your partner will receive a pension benefit every month for as long as he or she lives in the event of your death. This is the same as now. As long as you accrue pension with us, there is a partner's pension for your partner. This amounts to 35% of your salary.

There is also a monthly benefit for your children if you die. As long as you accrue pension with us, your child will receive an orphan's pension until he/she reaches the age of 25. The amount of this orphan's pension is 20% of the salary. The salary for these pensions are capped (€137,800 in 2025). The new pension is higher than in the current pension scheme.

It does not matter how long you have been a member in the pension scheme.

If you have accrued partner's and orphan's pension, this will be retained in the new pension scheme. HEINEKEN has agreed to pay out the accrued partner's and orphan's pension in the event of death if the new pension scheme applies, according to the new rules. This means that the partner's and orphan's pension in the event of death also moves in line with the results of the investments.

What happens when you leave employment?
If you leave employment,  the insurance for the partner's pension of the new scheme will stop after a maximum of three months. Unless you have an unemployment benefit or a sickness benefit for a longer period of time. If you leave employment, it is possible to continue to insure the partner's pension afterwards. You do pay the premium for this yourself, from your pension capital.
