What choices do you have?

There are several moments during your career when you can make choices about your pension. These include when you change jobs, either when you join HEINEKEN or when you leave the company, and when you retire.

1. Choices when changing jobs

When you join or leave employment, you can make several choices regarding your pension:

  • Combine your pensions when changing jobs (value transfer).

  • If you join HEINEKEN, you can choose to participate in the supplementary partner’s pension scheme.

  • If you leave HEINEKEN, you may choose to continue the insurance coverage for your partner’s pension in the event of death before retirement on a voluntary basis.

  • If you leave HEINEKEN, you may choose to continue the insurance coverage for your orphan’s pension in the event of death before retirement on a voluntary basis.

2. Choices when you want to retire

When you decide to retire, you can make several choices regarding your pension:

  • Retire earlier.
    You can start receiving your pension up to 10 years before your State Pension Age (AOW age).

  • Vary the level of your pension benefit.
    If you retire before reaching your State Pension Age, you may choose an AOW bridging pension. This pension is paid from your retirement date until you become entitled to AOW benefits. After that, you may also choose to receive a higher pension first, followed by a lower pension later.

  • Partial retirement.
    You can continue working while receiving part of your pension.

  • Exchange partner’s pension for a higher retirement pension.
    You can exchange all or part of your partner’s pension for a higher retirement pension for yourself. Your partner must give consent if you wish to make this choice.

  • From 1 January 2029, it will be possible to withdraw 10% of your personal pension capital as a lump sum.
