Exchanging Partner’s Pension for extra Retirement Pension
In addition to old age pension, you also accrued partner's pension up to and including December 31, 2025. There may be reasons why you want to exchange the partner's pension for a higher retirement pension. Maybe your partner has a good pension himself, or maybe you don't have a partner (anymore).
When you retire, it is possible to opt for the exchange of the accrued partner's pension under the old pension plan. After the exchange, the partner's pension can amount to 70%, 50%, 25% or 0% of the old age pension that remains after the exchange.
If no partner has been registered with the pension fund for a participant, the accrued partner's pension will be exchanged in full, unless the participant objects to this in writing to the fund no later than one month before the retirement date.
Please note: the exchange of partner's pension for a higher old age pension is a one-off choice. Once you have chosen to trade, it cannot be undone. If you do have a partner who is registered with the pension fund, he/she must agree with this choice.
